The Stradsett Estate, Norfolk

Sir Jeremy Bagge, 7th Baronet and former High Sheriff of Norfolk, warmly welcomes you to the Stradsett Estate website. A thriving country estate in rural West Norfolk, daily activities merge harmoniously with local community life. We aim for a sustainable existence, closely in touch with nature both cultivated and wild, and which many city-dwellers would envy. Some of the friendliest people in the country are united by a love of the land and the natural riches it affords.

The business of the Estate is farming: extensive arable cultivation and cattle for beef. The cattle are to be seen during the Summer months in the pastures adjoining the Park; extra grazing is sometimes available for local herdsmen and equestrian owners. The jewel in Stradsett's crown is its Lake, home to many and varied waterfowl, and open to the public for fishing upon acquiring a permit from the Estate Office. The Park can be booked for suitable events, and currently hosts the annual National Vintage Tractor & Engine Club Rally, and the East Anglian Country Music Festival. Details of these can be found in the 'Events' section of the website.

The family enjoys a degree of privacy in the historic house and gardens, but interested parties should contact the Office regarding the possibility of being shown round in small groups. Members of the public are welcome to try the 8-mile Conservation Walk in association with the Countryside Stewardship Scheme. The beautiful 700-year-old Church is well worth a visit (large parties please make arrangements with the Office), and the Estate's pub, The Foldgate Inn, is a great place to pause for refreshment.

Christmas trees are available from December. If you are interested in the possibility of living on the Estate, please enquire about cottages and houses available to rent on a long-term basis.
